Continuing on with my current fascination with Latin themed eateries in the city, I checked out Bandidas Taquiera yesterday near the corner of 12th and Commercial.
I'd passed by it numerous times on the bus and it's always caught my eye. Whether it's the fun sounding name, the big open windows, or the funky crowd that it attracts, I was certain I wanted to check it out someday. Yesterday, on a nearly blistering hot evening, we went for some dinner here, joining in the packed room of patrons and the stifling heat.
Vegetarians, rejoice! This restaurant turned out to be completely vegetarian, from their breakfast burritos to their soft shell tacos, big bowls of salad, and platters of cheese-covered nachos.
It was an enjoyable and healthy dinner. The salsa that came with the nachos was super spicey, which apparently is a good thing to eat in hot weather, I hear. It's nice to know that vegetarians are getting more optinos and places to hang out and eat in the city. Recommended for anyone who wants some good, healthy Latin eats!
