The whole "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy for the US military is on the verge of being thrown out the window. But while we wait for that to happen, the gay couple who were arrested and sentenced to 14 years in a Malawi prison have now been pardoned and released, due to international pressure on the African nation. It's sad that being gay is illegal in many countries still, around the world, including 37 of them in Africa.
Today I am thankful:
* that I live in a country where I am free to be myself
* that I work in a workplace where I don't have to hide who I am
