TV: Spartacus - Blood and Sand / Bachelorette
I hate myself for watching this. I hate myself even more for recognizing that it's NOT THAT GOOD and continuing to watch it. It peaked my interest because 1) hot men and 2) I heard there was a gay storyline. Gay gladiators? Sign me up!
But sadly it's short-lived.
The best word to describe this show is: gratuitous. Gratuitous violence, gratuitous gore, and gratuitous nudity. At least the nudity is both female and male.
At times I feel like I'm watching one of those Hercules/Conan/Xena tv shows. It doesn't help that Lucy Lawless (Xena Warrior Princess herself!) is in Spartacus.
This is the abyss of hell that I fall into when shows like Lost, Glee, Modern Family, The Office, and 30 Rock come to an end or take their summer break, and shows like Mad Men and Weeds haven't started up quite just yet.
Oh and yes I am totally watching The Bachelorette.
Even though I hate Ali and think she's completely whiny. Still, I can't look away from all those men and the men drama! My picks: Frank, Roberto, and Justin (just because he's a wrestler!)
