Movies: Morning Glory

So there I was, all set for a night of romantic comedy, with the likes of Rachel McAdams, Patrick Wilson (!!), Harrison Ford, and Diane Keaton. However, the sparks never really flew, and the movie turned into more of a "job" movie. Is there even a genre for this? It's not a Rom Com. It's more like The Devil Wears Prada, where it's about the trials and tribulations of a young woman trying to make it in the work force.

So although there's a mild love storyline, the focus is more on Rachel McAdams, who gets a new job as a producer of an early morning talk show, hosted by Diane Keaton and Harrison Ford. The relationship that builds between McAdams and Ford is sweet, in that mentor/mentee kind of way.

So it took a moment to readjust my brain and get rid of my expectations for a RomCom, and after that, I rather enjoyed the movie. I mean, it's not spectacular, but it's not horrific either like the Reese Witherspoon one was.
