Your Voice in My Head

Sorry I haven't been posting. I've been up to lots! Maybe I'll update this, maybe I won't.

But for now, if you are aching for something to read since I haven't been updating, then may I suggest you go read a book? This book, in particular.

It's Emma Forrest's Your Voice In My Head, and it took me less than a week to get through. It made me laugh, it made me cry, it made me want to hug myself. It's the kind of book I would like to write someday, but we'll see...

It's a memoir of a woman who is suffering from depression, among other things, and the amazing help she gets from a certain shrink. Well, the shrink dies, and it's up to her to try and find her own way in the world, like the rest of us have to. Also, she dates a famous actor, but you'll have to read it to figure out who she's talking about!

  1. The cover very much puts me in mind of the play "Hamlet" by Shakespeare - specifically the character of Ophelia and her drowning. Oddly enough I was just doing stuff with my students on that last week! I also teach the kids Sylvia Plath, so there's another connection...the book sounds like an interesting read so may well check it out myself and recommend it to the kids! Thanks for the heads up!

Hope you are well and BIG CONGRATULATIONS on the publication of your book, btw!!
